Re: Two stroke experiment starts today

I got to the pump last night, bottle in hand only to find the lid jammed :( I'll need to find a better delivery method!

Re: Uprated bulbs

I think HID is the least of the worry, just pop some halogen bulbs in before the test, 10 minutes at most! I would have thought it would be the DPF, EGR and CATs that cause issues, even then I have my egr in place it just doesn't have a vacuum hose to it, they are not allowed to remove any covers so...

Re: Switching off alarm

Under the impression locking the car twice with remote disables it but not sure tbh That's the way for newer cars, we have a Seat Alhambra 2017 and it's in the manual, however the B5.5 has a switch on the seatbelt pillar just press it before you get out and lock the car Sent from my TA-1033 using T...

Re: Ccm adaptation

It is probably a bad switch on the lock so the car doesn't think it's locked and won't arm the alarm.

Last time I had an issue was a few years back, changed it out for an eBay lock, sounds like you have 2 to do but it's a pain

Re: aerial

You could easily get a leak from the seal, I would replace the seal as a matter if course as it's an easy fix. My Passat is a loon and I didn't take out the headliner I just dropped it at the back.

Re: aerial

Don't do it! Sharkfin aerials look great but don't function well, I know they are favourites in newer car but they also have diversity aerials to boost the signal! I put a DAB twin aerial in mine and it looks original, to be fair the FM side is rubbish but the DAB is amazing Sent from my TA-1033 usi...

Re: Speaker suggestions please?

I'm actually looking forward to the install, it's been a while since I did anything similar! With the wiring, my speakers haven't turned up yet but assuming the tweeters either come off the main speakers or has a crossover what happens with the original wiring, where is the split for the tweeters an...

Where did you get that lot Gaz?

I love the bit of wood holding up the window, do you employ a hamster to move it up and down when required??

Re: Just got stitched right up

If you get a chance lift up the passenger carpet and see if it's sopping wet, it does sound like you have blocked drains, take a look at the sticky for Plenum drains, if it turns out just to be a switch you are going to want to do the plenum regardless! If it is the CCM I think it's more investment ...

I was looking at both those last night, I'll look again later, they seemed reasonable in price.

I looked at JL but can't really justify the price

Re: Speaker suggestions please?

Thanks Dan, I picked up a headunit yesterday, I went for a Pioneer AVH-x490DAB which had everything I needed/wanted! So on to the speakers, I don't think having an amp is the way to go, I want like for like, the front and backs are 6.5" so I have learned today, I want new tweeters also so would...

Re: Rage Against The Machines! SPACE TO VENT HERE

Don't get me started on disabled bays! My daughter has Cerebral Palsy and we have a Seat Alhambra disability Car, this is mainly for the sliding rear doors and for us a wide space is essential for her and her wheelchair, however the people I see just parked up eating food or running to the cash poin...

I've had my EGR disabled for quite a while now, I haven't been in the engine for a while I might have to check all my pipes are ok.

Still love the car, the power is awesome so much torque!

Speaker suggestions please?

Hey folks, just picked up a new Pioneer head unit for the B5.5 and wanted some cheap but decent sounding speakers to replace the originals which are starting to vibrate. I'm not going to be using an amp unless there is again a cheap decent setup?

Re: 130 sport not much of a build, build thread

So it's been a while what can I say? The old girl is going strong but she is only being used for work by me now, it's still 40 miles a day but on fast roads but no motorway anymore! I've noticed she's a bit smokey I'm not sure where to start on that one yet. I am going to use some 2 stroke and see h...

Re: Keeping our Passats running smooth..

I forgot to ask, I usually use shell fuel and it does seem to give me mpg over a tank and runs quieter, does adding 2stroke mean using supermarket fuels will give me the same effect?
