Re: Best car u've ever owned???
Had a drive of a Monaro, when on holiday in Oz.
Lovely motor.
Years ago bought a MK1 granada 3.0 litre V6.
Paid £80 for it, ran it for 6 years sold it for £60.
Cheapest motoring I had for a long time.
Was a really nice car to drive.
Probably 1 of my best cars.

Re: N00b from Australia
Welcome to UKP.
I wish I was in OZ. Was over there About 8 years ago.
Had a month in Melbourne, visiting in-laws.
Loved the place didn't want to come home.
Would emigrate over there tomorrow if I could.

Strange fault? B5.5 sport (petrol)
Had the codes read & cleared on my B5.5 sport (petrol).
And a fault keeps coming up showing problem with cruise control?
Cruise control not fitted on my car.
Do any sports (petrol) models have this fitted?
Or anyone else had this problem? Know a fix?

Re: B5.5 wagon Rear hatch will not shut?
Right I left the panel off for now while I sort this. Opened the tailgate yesterday & then it would not shut again. Tapped the solenoid & it moved. Works again. Was in local garage for engine management light & they had to ring VW for a part for my car. Asked them to get price for soleno...

Re: B5.5 wagon Rear hatch will not shut?
Done it again sunday.
Looking today solenoid? is sticking on open?
Will this be solenoid or handle micro switch?
Having to disconnect cable on latch, & when I need to open tailgate.
Having to go potholing through back seat to manually release it.

Re: paint 12year warranty
Spotted a little bit of rust/bubbling on my 02 plate wagon.
Is on the tailgate near both number plate lights.
Is it worth going to VW dealer to see if 12 year warranty applies to this?

Re: B5.5 wagon Rear hatch will not shut?
It is most likely your locking mechanism. Our boot on the saloon did the same and it was just the mech. For now secure the boot as best as possible, cable ties on the inside. Them tomorrow have a good gander at what is going on. They mechs aren't expensive, i think about £20? Matt Will have a look...

Dropped some bits off at the mother in laws. Now the rear boot hatch wont shut. Tried doing the catch by hand with boot open, but it won't latch shut. Handle moves ok. Anyone else had this? Re: bonnet microswitch
I tried the bonnet switch when my low oil level light came on.
I changed the oil level sensor & light still came on.
The cure was to disconnect the battery & everything reset, no more light on.
Made me wonder, if had wasted money on new sensor?
