Which shocks to use?

Just bought some lowering springs to replace my coilies as they're too harsh and have no rear adjusters so I'm just fed up of em. I also have the standard shocks and springs from my old b5.5. Question is which shocks are gonna be better to use? Obviously gonna have to use the standards for the front...

Re: Andy Mac's 20vt - the UKP town bike......

Yea but its pretty much self-removing with how loose it is lol I know for sure it will fall out especially with the weight of a number plate on it, so I tie wrapped it to the other half of the grille, it had the old plate holding it in place before

Re: Andy Mac's 20vt - the UKP town bike......

Thanks lee, my thoughts exactly I prefer the full sized ones lol. You know what, I thought about doing it the other side but that reason never occured to me, good idea! Luckily the tie wraps are the removeable ones so I can always relocate at a later date but the smaller grille doesn't seem very sec...

Re: Andy Mac's 20vt - the UKP town bike......

Keeping the updates comin thick an fast - I'm on fire this week haha! Again only a small personal touch but the stubby wing mirrors were a bit of a pain for me to see through especially as where I park my car is badly lit, there are a few stealth kerbs and the windows are tinted that dark I have no ...

Re: Andy Mac's 20vt - the UKP town bike......

Went out today and replaced my front numberplate with a us spec, this was for a few reasons, it had a welsh flag on it (no offence but I'm not welsh), it was in an ABT Tuning surround which I didn't like and the main reason, it was blocking the intercooler so it made sense to move it completely. Bef...

Re: Andy Mac's 20vt - the UKP town bike......

Been a while since the last update so here it is! Replaced the rocker cover gasket and changed the oil as it was black as night and the gasket was knackered so it was leaking oil slightly. It was quite an easy job and I had a mate supervise me so I didn't make a mistake, the whole job inc oil and fi...

Re: Thule roof bars - will these fit?

Ahh nice one I'll pop up and see him this week then, u any idea how much these things cost? I have a huge roof box to refurbish so that will be a nice challenge but hopefully will look good when finished and make the car a bit more practical for holidays :)

Re: Thule roof bars - will these fit?

I offered them up and didn't look like they would mount anywhere, where can I get the feet that will mount them to my saloon then?

G62 (cts) common easy one G70 (maf) signal too low - I know what's wrong with that the ones that puzzle me slightly are these two: 01262 - Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control (N75) - I have no boost issues, I actually have ...

Thats a good shout, will check them thanks. Any idea if both problems could be connected? I'm thinking no cos the latch mechanism is completely mechanical isn't it? Or is there a part of the central locking that could cause the latch to stay open?

B5 rear doors closing/unlocking issues..... here we go :-(

Reminiscent of my last passat, after about a month of owning my b5 the silly little common faults have decided to rear their ugly heads.... it already needed a drivers window reg (knew about it when I got it, not an issue I've done about 6 before lol) then a few days ago the passenger side went TwAn...
