Awk that's a bit of a bummer mate. Sorry to hear they just ignored you. It can be hard to find a good reputable garage to work on your car

Re: Oil grade for 170bhp with dfp not on long life services

So if the car has a dpf you must use 507 grade 5w-30 oil and if it doesnt have a dpf you can use the earlier spec 506?

Can someone confirm this?

By the way any call back from the dealer?

Re: Oil grade for 170bhp with dfp not on long life services

nope it just has vw 50200/50301/50500. on the bottle shell helix ultra 5w-40 Hmm I would ring your main dealership and ask to speak to the master tech or service manager (master tech is better because he will know what he is talking about) and ask what oil should go in your car. If he says 507 then...

Re: Oil grade for 170bhp with dfp not on long life services

507 is just the specification that vw recommend for the engine....referring to additives in the oil.

As long as it has 5w-30 or 5w-40 longlife fully synthetic oil that meets the 507 spec (it will state this on the bottle) it will be fine :-bd

Re: Passat B6 Sport build (OEM+)

Ah I see cheers Not sure whether to go 30mm or 40mm Not lowered a Passat before but I have done plenty of others I personally think 30mm is plenty on standard shocks, 40mm would make it a terrible ride and would prob handle very badly. Sent from my LT15i using Tapatalk I have 40mm springs in my Pas...

No doesn't bother me mate. :) They cost me £650 delivered to NI but i got them just before the price increases came in this month so they might cost a bit more now.

Re: AP coilovers or BC Racing coilovers?

Hey I'm the guy G_Black was saying bought the BC Racing coilovers. Haven't got them fitted yet but looking at the design of them I reckon they're going to be brilliant :) Will let you all know once I've fitted them how they ride. I do agree though that setting them up might be a bit fiddly with all ...

Must be due to a slight difference in the floor pan to accommodate the 4 motion setup at the rear.

I know golfs and boras have slightly different floor pans between fwd and 4wd models...
