Re: Long trip preparation
Every summer I do just under 2k miles 1 way. 1270 to Hungary (21-23 hrs), and over 700 miles to Greece. The worst part of the journey are the roadworks in the middle of Germany. Good for fuel economy but drive me nuts. 50 mph! They've been going on for the past 3 years .

Re: Well looks like the turbo has finally given out
The cartridge/turbo MUST be balanced after the rebuild! So I don't think this option is viable mate!

D2s xenon bulb
What lumens should a good bulb have? And should it be a 4300k or a 500k? Cheers

Re: CV boots
2 years and 30k miles later the J&R cv joint and boot still going strong. You get 2 years warranty with them anyway. And you get the bolt in the kit as well, as it's a stretch bolt. The torque on it is mega though.

Might be the microswitch!!! Just check that first, and spray some wd40 on the ms contacts first before you buy a new motor mate.

You need the part number. On ebay they range between £50-60. Try gsf or ecp first though.

I had the same problem. Turned out it was the bootlock rubber seal was not sitting correctly. Put a bit of sealant around it and it'll be ok.

Tesco fuel gives me around 620 miles to a tank. Esso gives me a minimum of 670! Mine is a awx 130 bhp with 139k on the clock serviced every 7-8 thousand miles.

Re: Temp sensor on bottom hose
The viscous fan runs has nothing to do with that sensor mate. If the speed of the fan is constant or if you can't stop the fan with your hand while engine is running, then the fan coupler is faulty. Don't spend your money on that sensor!

Its a lhd guys, it can be exported to Europe! That's why its that much. Not that a rhd can't be exported but a lhd would be very conveniently re-registered in mainland Europe!
