I did the diy 'how to' last year to let others know, its only recently been posted on here as a link.
I repaired mine last june or july and its been fine ever since. Not all cases are the same but a cheap fix
Mine only works if you come to lights/junction on a hill, Pull up with the clutch in, brakes on and then press the epb button (foot must be on the brake) Keepin the clutch in it should release the brake when you release the clutch (set off) Not sure what auto hold is tho!
mine randomly does this, usually when i'm just about passed someone on the m,way lol but mainly up hill in 6th. What's the easiest fix for the veins, is it turbo off job? Seen a cleaning kit that requires removal of the boost pipe for access and guarantee's to rid limp mode issues but at £50 i'd be...
Alloy and steel don't mix, bad design fault if you ask me. I had the same problem so ended up at my local garage £50 lighter but well worth it. Those struts are a nightmare and can easily Crack if forced open too much. All I can suggest is loosen up, tap with a hammer and soak over night with wd40 ...
This is the link off ebay, says it fits my car 05-11 170tdi. Bearing and hub? http://i764.photobucket.com/albums/xx290/cot51e1/KGrHqZoE9c69SkeBPdH3kGRRQ60_12_zps3488c373.jpg http://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=220577419429&t=1333034493000&tid=310&category...
I'm pretty sure its bearing related, same drone at 5mph as at 50 only faster lol. Tyres have done at least 8k and even wear.
What I need to know is the whole unit bolt on type as pictures I've seen give me impression it is. Try n post a pic tonight.
Is the rear bearing a simple bolt on unit. I've seen some on eBay that have the bearing + housing with bolt holes. Done a search but only issuses with tyre noise coming up. Tyres are still as new after 6mths with no uneven wear so I'm guessing the drone I'm hearing which has got slightly worse is th...
You would have loads of thick gunk on the oil filler cap if its gone. Its common to have a little milky residue due to condensation, more common on short runs.
I got all this for £159 most places want that just for one arm and these are the lighter alloy ones. Drives nice n tight now. Time I got round to sorting my 'lumpy start' issue and told/read it's common for the crank sensor to be the culprit. I just want to know the basics to get me on my way and get the right part (2006 170tdi sport, BMR engine) Hopefully after I've had it scanned this will be the cause! I'm unable to fin...
Just out of interest, is the fuel pump easily removed from the whole unit as mines on its way out. Mines a bmr so wondering are all 2.0 pumps the same flow rate?
