It had previously failed at 1.98 with ' the fuse ' pulled as it was visably in trouble and on the back foot against the 0.6 plate value .

Remapping has more to do with clutch failure than big ends bearing failure .

Yep 160K when purchased the B5.5 .

You can do all the oil changes in the world it's a hardware issue that saw the end of this cherished UKPassats B6 .

Fuse 31 15A controls cruise and reversing lights , even though you might not have cruise the software is there hense retrofitting , obviously controls some fueling . Replace the bearing shells ASAP the upper ones have a nasty habit of wearing through and spot welding to the crank and kicking a leg out of bed .

I completely echo your experience with a Sprint Booster on the Merc and it had more of a difference than the remapping despite gaining 120 Nm .


I'm on max setting Race ( red ) #9 .

It has a detachable miniscule controller and a few more tricks up it's sleave .

I think FMIC only really comes into play with prolonged WOT openings to keep intake and EGT's temps down like when on track , a quick squirt to overtake 5 cars isn't going to come into play much .
