Re: B4 TDI wagon breaking & B3 mecanical...
Think the top mounts on a B4 are the same as a MK3 golf in that they are smaller but I think the metal cap that holds the spring to the strut are the same, they all use pig tailed springs. Ive got all four legs and I can use my top mounts I have on the coilies it that rest of the bits i need

Dont know technical name. If you also have the nuts that hold them in place that would be ...

Re: B3 Wagon Rear lights wanted
Thats right they are not handed on an estates and saloon are totally different, saloon units will not fit an estate and that also goes for the rear tub. What I was wondering is if B4 ones fit as then it might be worth going down to the local breakers to see whats about

Normally if its the heater matrex you get a rusty water smell in the cabin as you get up to temperature. Matrex cab be bypassed, relatively easy to change just time consuming

Buying a Passat
Helping a friend buy a new car on a budget. Today we found a B5 1900tdi passat on O5 plate with a lowish millage which seem better than some of the newer cars with the 2000tdi engines. Am I right in thinking the 1900 tdi is the better stronger engine as the newer engines appear to have a lot of weak...

Re: Hatch Struts
I have some spare struts off a b3 that i broke and they are different to the ones on my car in that the end caps that press over the ball joint are bigger and therefore when you go to shut the tailgate just ping of again as there is no room for them to turn if that makes any sense. Was hoping I coul...

Hatch Struts
Seems there is two types that fit a B3 as the early ones I have don't fit a later B3. I was wondering if I could fit them from a B5 as I could get a pair from the breakers. Just saves me ordering them over the net and the wrong ones turn up as they only seem to list one type

Re: WHAT DIESEL AND WHERE FROM IS THE BEST?
Like said just add a cap of low ash two strike oil to the fill up and that will lubricate and quieten the pump. My sisters partner dose it to both his blue motions and has been doing so for a while. I tend to run my TD on BP diesel mixed with veg oil

Re: Environmentally friendly way to wash your car
When I lived in Spain I believed there was some stupid law about washing your car in the street using water from your tap so I only ever washed mine when it rained, something I do now, saves water and rinsing plus all the craps softened up. Never jet wash my car, 25 years old and now lacquer peel
