Re: Car Insurance by Addresses

If all the Morons stop claiming fake whiplash and Injurys and reduced the compensation claims I think everyone would be better off renewal time! I read that there's work going on to standardise the amount the doctor can get to assess these claims... Nice earner for them of course... A proper gravy ...

Re: Noisy Fuel Pump(?) & Coolant Loss

I am BMR engine so 2.0 16v pd... Had tank lift pump go buzzy like yours on and off so I replaced it, whole basket with sender etc - fitting is easy DIY, unit cost me 130. You can find pump motor/body itself but debatable whether you can replace just this part without damage to other parts.- pipes mi...

You need the springs too I think. If this type has springs. Else they rattle around and wear unevenly too.

I found the texaco premium diesel was sometimes just like standard diesel. I suspect they topped it off with some standard occasionally to make a few extra ££ but they lost my trade the wallies.

Re: B6 BKP 2.0tdi Sport 2nd Gear hesitation ( fuel filter?)

If that puts you at 2000rpm in third then would seem perfect no? If it's pd170 16v then seems right to me... If it's hesitating at 3500rpm I'd think of checking the lift pump in the tank. Mine went and some others have too. Mine hummed loudly and never "failed" but others have failed with ...

Could this be oil leaking from turbo seals and burning at the cat = very smelly exhaust. Hence worse at startup....??

bye bye road tax disk

Spoke someone yesterday whose husb works for toyota dealer, she reckons up to 12months tax goes unreclaimbable if car resold. I told her "nonsense" but if above is true that could theoretically cause what she was saying to be right... Maybe it's NEW cars though so relatively rare to be res...

I would recommend Using best quality fuel you can.. At least for a few tanks to see if regen habits improve, likely they would I reckon.

I always found premium diesel ran better and so have any others. I don't understand why some find this surprising when it's so easy to test.

Re: bye bye road tax disk

So do we have to tax the vehicle from start of current month when vehicle acquired? Seems wrong if prev owner already paid for that month? Perhaps new owner only has to arrange it immediately to start in new month, so anpr is looking for cars on the road which have been transferred ownership but hav...

I ran out of diesel and had to crank it with one injector fuel connection loosened, be ready to tighten once it starts and diesel started spraying out. Oh and protect yourself from the spray too, rags over, eyewear and gloves.

I changed mine a but back, easy enough to do. Take care to get the rubber ring in correctly so no leak issues afterwards.
