Have you checked injector loom hasnt worked loose on cylinder no 1 after I replaced loom on mine all was good 6 months later it started misfiring so badly it was undriveable took rocker cover off and an injector was unplugged

Map sensor its in a turbo hose & measures manifold pressurenot Maf sensor thats at the airfilter and measures air flow

Have you checked MAP sensor not sure where it is on a Passat but been having problems similar with my T5 after curing black smoke and late boost it then had no boost in hot weather took MAP sensor out and cleaned it with contact cleaner not wd40 it did the trick
