Yep that’s correct - but mine’s remapped to around 104kw, pulls quite nicely

Re: help getting a b5 / a4 tdi with high mileage

My ‘03 AVB is on 197k miles (337k km) and runs like a Swiss watch - still on factory clutch, turbo and injectors and it tows my caravan quite happily, including long steep hills. As said use the correct oils and service it in accordance with guidelines and they’re pretty bombproof. The last few cars...

Re: Aftermarket head unit - signal booster query

Right, that kind of makes sense - so what you’re saying is with the booster I have at the minute the 12v is powering the amplifier in the cable, rather than just passing it through the coax?

Aftermarket head unit - signal booster query

Afternoon chaps, I've replaced my Gamma unit with a double din Android but the radio reception wasn't the best. Given that the original Gamma fed 12v up the centre coax to boost the antenna, I've fitted a Halfrauds signal booster and taken the feed from the correct wire from the rear of the unit, bu...

Re: Quite pleased with that ...

Didn't actually fill it back up again bud - it's about to be parked up for a couple of weeks so just put 10L in. I see what you're getting at though - next time I'll do that. I just refuelled when it got to 0 miles left. Not sure how far reserve may have got me - another 10 or 20 miles maybe? I was ...

Quite pleased with that ...

Just completed a tank to tank test, achieved 680 miles from a tank. Averaged 49.4 mpg according to the dash computer, over 36 hours. What I'm most impressed with is that's around town - no motorway or dual carriageways. My commute is 8 miles each way, all on A and B roads, then I use the car through...

Re: Dash Removal Complete - CCM & Drying Carpet?

From memory regarding bleeding - unbolt the coolant reservoir and lift it up 3-4", undo the hose clamp on the matrix pipe with the hole and slide it back until its beyond the end of the matrix tube, but still in place. Then fill via the header tank until you get a good steady stream from the ho...

Re: Brake pad warning light

There's a wear sensor built into the pads, you'll see a couple of wires at the rear. It could also be a break in the cable - if this is the case the cable can be repaired, or as some people choose to, cut the wires and connect them together to close the loop (obviously wear sensor doesn't work any m...

Re: Rear passenger cigar fuse

I believe there's a couple more fuses near the relay board behind the driver side lower dash panel, not sure if one of those serves the lighter sockets though - sure somebody will be along soon to confirm or disprove though

Yep, now you've jogged my memory it only works on certain ECU's - a bit of googling will throw up a list - not sure if I got my info from a Seat forum

Re: Open and close windows with key fob - what's involved?

Did mine a few years back using Motordiag - pretty straightforward if you copy and paste the info from each page into Babelfish or something similar (seem to remember it was all in Czechoslovakian!)

Re: B5.5 1.9tdi sport

Look down the front of the engine, between the engine and radiator, near the front left hand corner of the block - it's on a little bracket above the vacuum reservoir. Might be easier to see with the engine cover removed

Re: Coil spring recommendations - not quite the usual question

Cheers Gaz, good point

I hadn't really noticed the slightly soggy rear end until I tried the caravan on the back of my wife's car - a mk5 Golf GT TDi - it's a world of difference! I know the Passat will never handle the same as the Golf, but some improvement would be nice 👍

Re: Coil spring recommendations - not quite the usual question

Thanks for the replies gents. Possibly a silly question, but what about these shown below? I know they're for a wagon but I wonder if that would help with the caravan on the back? Or would it be noticeably unbalanced when not towing?

Coil spring recommendations - not quite the usual question

Evenin' all, I'm looking for recommendations for front and rear coil springs for an '03 TDi saloon - however, I'm not after an all singing all dancing turbo nutter b@st@rd setup, just something to tighten the old girl up and make life a little less wallowy when towing my caravan. Not really interest...

Re: Security Alarm

When I go on a ferry I lock the car by reaching across from the passenger side, pressing the lock button next to the window controls and shutting the passenger door - locks the car without setting the alarm. Surprising how many car alarms are going off by the time you return to the car deck!

Re: Changing bulbs on high level 3rd brake light?

Not sure they can be changed bud, never stripped one down - I would have assumed LED's. It's a simple plug-in job, but I've not taken one out of a wagon before - saloon just clips out
