Best Lowering Kit for B6 saloon??

Trying to guage what would be the best kit or just lowering springs for my B6 Highline saloon. I won't be looking for anything superlow or slammed as will want to keep a degree of ride comfort. I have stock 17's on at the moment and will be looking to upgrade to either Audi S line alloys on either t...

Re: Hello from Basingstoke

Hi Nathan, Welcome to the Forum and nice to know that there is another UKPassats member also in Basingstoke, has the same B6 Highline albeit mine is a 58 plate Lol! I also had a Mk4 Golf (x 2 previously), 1st one was a V6 4 motion and the latter one a 150 GT Tdi both very missed. Regards the alarm c...

Re: Name the 1st car you driven

A Fiat 124 Special T - 1.6 twin cam superfast machine. The body though was very Italian and full of rust. Even though it was supposed to be red, the colour faded and was almost going Pink - Not cool for driving into College! Sprayed the wheels white to take your eye off the paintwork and it even had...

Re: is this a chinese rns315?

I like to have an integrated satnav and the RNS510's are way too much money at around £400 for an early B or C version which is prone to faults. Each to their own but that's why I am upgrading :D

Re: is this a chinese rns315?

Looks very much like a RNS315 model to me. There is a differing opinion of Chinese unit copies as some guys will say they last 6 months and some say that they haven't had any problems - luck of the drawer I guess. I have a RCD510 OEM in my B6 which has 6 CD built in, SD card slot etc and thinking of...

Re: Cambelt change

Water pumps are around £40-£55. Not a case of them failing, more of a case of prevention if it should happen to fail. Once it's replaced you don't have to worry about it failing but if you have gone through the expense of changing the cam belt, you may as well change the water pump - If you had to...

Re: Cambelt change

Hi Steve B, Mine is coming up to be done shortly as have a 96k B6 140 TDI manual. Can't say how to do it as not that mechanically trained to do such a huge job. Got a couple of Indie VW quotes local to me in Basingstoke and they are quoting anywhere from £325-£395. It's about 4 hours labour they c...

Re: Phone Holders

Huge praise for my Brodit. Affixed like Critical Mass stated behind the central air vents. You get a small plastic prise tool to get enough room behind top and bottom of the vent. Once in position it does not move and has a bespoke phone holder suited to your specific make of mobile. You can also mo...

Re: B6 saloon roof bars. which are best?

I personally use Thule for the quality of the product as they feel more sturdy and have a good name from all that I have spoken to in the cycling fraternity. It is a mine field out there for choice I know but for my 2008 B6 I have the Thule 754 footpack (gutterless feet) these have a fixing point un...
