Re: Recommendation for replacement shocks and lowering sprin

Thanks guys for all the feedback on this and looks like I will have to do some further research on pricing regards Eiback springs and potentially looking for some upmarket shocks rather than standard. It's a case of either taking the plunge and replacing all shocks and springs in 1 go or just replac...

Re: Recommendation for replacement shocks and lowering sprin

Hi Richard, thanks for the reply and they do seem quite expensive just for springs only, let alone the requirement for shocks. I have standard 17's so may go the standard shock route with lowering springs from FK or another similar brand. Just spent £400 on replacing all tyres plus a service so lot...

Recommendation for replacement shocks and lowering springs

Hi, as the title suggests I have a 2008 2.0 tdi saloon 140 and the rear shocks are leaking. Therefore guys looking at your opinion for which makes are the best priced at around £200-£350 for a whole set. Not looking at coil overs but replacement shocks all around with lowering springs which will d...

Excessive tyre wear and rear shock advice

Took my B6 TDI in for an interim service and shocked to get a report back from them stating that the front 2 x tyres needed replacing (1 showing cords). I do visually check the tyres but last done this a few weeks ago. Had these new Falkens 914's fitted last July and has only done 20k! Not impressed...

Re: TerraClean.

Hi Holophyte, I had mine done just over a year ago when the car had done about 88k, now on 110k. Have I noticed a difference? Nothing but a marginal difference so think it maybe a placebo effect. The car didn't emit any black smoke and was doing on average 55MPG but may of gone up slightly to 60MPG ...

E&M was always last resort for me to search when looking to buy a motor - Always used Autotrader as has a very good search engine and more refined. Ebay second.

Re: Cambelt change help

Must of been lucky then with my local VDub stealer as when surfing Google for local cambelt deals they came up, advertised as a Summer promotion of £299.00. I got this done last Winter after checking they would still offer at that price which they did. I wanted the water pump doing as well which th...

Re: Hello from the south

Hi Alan, Yes I have a UKP sticker on my rear window albeit in black (must get a white or silver one) :-P Haven't seen another UKP one on a Passat though.
Will look into the Eibacj springs a bit more, although not that confident in doing them myself :-?

Might not be the case but when you hear a 'clunking' noise from the front it sure may sound like it! :p

Re: Imperial car supermarket- who heard who bought

Hi, My current B6 TDI Highline came from the Southampton branch of Imperial cars which I bought in January 2013. All cars are RAC checked and any faults are rectified but I would ask for the inspection form. Have to say that ownership of this car has come up with no faults in ownership and all VW re...

Re: I'm looking for a decent/local Paint Shop

Hi, Just a suggestion but have you thought of a mobile outfit like Chips Away as they usually do a good job with 100% paint match guarantee. Also they will come to your home/work to do this as they are fully mobile. When you say few paint defects are they a big area over the doors, bumpers etc? I do...

Re: Brake pads & discs all round.

Is that vw oem parts though? Have a feeling they are patent prices. Had whole set done on mine for £300 and were aftermarket . Only problem is slight clunking noise from rear pads as VW dealer investigated this to say slight difference in size of pads so beware. Doesn't affect braking just annoying...
