more developments...... i have removed the gearbox today and found tha if you turn the input shaft with the box in gear nothing spins! so it looks like its expired so i now need a new box or this one reconditioning . Just out of intrest did you remove the box from underneath? And what sort of a job...

Hi I got mine from Ross tec, yes they are a lot more expensive than ebay etc, but they work properly, have all functions enabled and help is only a phone call away. They will also make sure you get the correct one.

Hi there easy to fit and dont damage the car at all.If you look inside the door frame (with the door open)at the top there are two dots where the bars locate between. Are you local to me ? I could lend you a set of bars and a box.

I think they were about £15 each, they do all sizes and lengths in weld on and clamp on styles. Where abouts are you located?...

Does the spoiler on the drivers side wiper go at the top of the wiper or the bottom? The one on my car is at the bottom but the replacement bosh set I have purchased is set for it on the top. you can change it but I would like to be sure first.

If you need it I have the bar which sits behind the plastic moulding complete with the shock absorbers... when I fitted my tow bar it replaces this.

Nope my 51 plate doesnt have it either and as above cant see where you would need it.

mines stock and staying that way. I am trying to get it as standardard as possible using original vw parts,oils, filters etc and to the highest standard that I can both mechanical and visually.Like I hope it was when it come out the show room.

You might be able to get it off with a flank drive socket... Its a socket that drives on the flats of the bolt head instead of the corners with a hex or bihex socket.

Hi all my car just passed the MOT but had a advisery on rear brake flexi pipe. after changing it is there any special procedure with regard to the ABS? Do you have to use vag com to put the ABS control unit into bleed mode?
