Re: 2.0tdi won't engage 2nd or 4th when accelerating hard?
Thanks for that - I will have a look and see if mine looks similar and can have a go. At least it sounds like there are other options to needing a whole new gearbox which is what I was expecting! Cheers!

2.0tdi won't engage 2nd or 4th when accelerating hard?
Hi, I'm not very mechanical so bear with me! My car is a b6, 2.0tdi SE, well serviced but with 183k miles, runs ok - bit smokey. The DMF needs doing soon as started to rattle a few months ago. My problem is that when I'm accelerating hard I can't engage 2nd and also noticed it happens with 4th too. ...

MFD2 Upgrade/Aux?
Hi, I currently have the OEM sat nav in my B6 (MFD2 I believe) with a 6 disc changer in the glovebox. It just looks a bit dated - would a newer version of the same unit be a 'plug and play' swap? Or is there any way I can easily fit an AUX input to it? Sorry - I'm not to clued up with ICE! Any help ...

Re: Loud rattle when lifting clutch pedal?
Hmm i feel your pain....! There is always something!
Well at that price my planned remap will have to wait......if its possibly just the release bearing is this cheaper to replace and hope that its just that as the part is cheap? Or is it false economy?

Loud rattle when lifting clutch pedal?
Hi all, I have got a b6 2.0tdi 140 se which has now covered 170k miles but still drives really well, had it for about a year and love it! Only main issue I have is that sometimes when you lift the clutch pedal in neutral there is a horrendous rattle from the bottom area of the engine. If you don't l...

Leaking rear caliper = a new one?
Hi all, just been out to my 55 plate b6 tdi se and it said the brake fluid needing topping up, which i thought odd as did it two weeks ago. Turns out it is leaking from the rear caliper, looks like from a seal. Does anyone know if this means a whole new caliper or can the seal be replaced? Many than...

Radiator fan keeps coming on all the time?
Hi all, I have had my b6 2.0tdi se for a few months now and love it. Only issue I have got is that the radiator fan keeps coming on, even when cold before the engine is up to temperature. It will stay on for 20-30 seconds, go off for 30 seconds or so and then come on again - all the time! Anyone hav...

Re: Newbie alloy wheel question...
Hi thanks for your help. Yes they are 17 so not what i was after which is a shame as i like the style and look. You are right thought they would need adapters but will sell them anyway and put the cash towards some 18 inch wheels once find some i like! Thanks for your advice, chris

Re: Newbie alloy wheel question...
Thanks for your replies. Turns out they are 17 inch not 18 as advertised after all that. Will start a new search for ideas of 18 inch ones as think that size suits the car better
