Couple of days ago, but I finally got my coilovers fitted...
Corners so much better (original suspension was on 215,000 miles) but I can't fly over speed bumps like I used to.

Ditto. Saw no improvements in fuel consumption or in the way the car ran.swalker wrote:I gave up on the two stroke.
You can get 3.5 litres of diesel for the price of a litre of 2 stroke. I think that's the best way to get more miles from your £

Re: Front Lower Shock Bolt - Can't Remove It
Then disconnecting the ARB won't have much effect. I think it still will because I had a thought this morning. I unbolted the top of the shock on the offside but not the nearside, so I'm assuming the lower arm wouldn't drop enough because of the ARB still being connected to the nearside shock and t...

Undo the arb will drop down further I did think about this afterwards. Won't get to have another go until next week now as the weather is looking a bit grim. Also don't forget to put a new clip on the small end on your CV boot and use metal clips as like the zip tie that is on there there don't sta...

Front Lower Shock Bolt - Can't Remove It
As the title says, went to fit my coilovers today and, as I'm sure anyone who has removed their front shocks knows, the bolt fouls on the lower arm. http://i.imgur.com/M7SQ4Unl.jpg How the hell did you get it out? I turned the steering wheel lock to lock and everywhere in between to try and find the...

I used L.E.D strips from eBay and they look like this... http://i.imgur.com/m3KtJCp.jpg They work with the central locking/door switches by wiring them into the plug below. Positive side of the L.E.Ds to red/black and negative to brown/white. Plug can be found in the passenger footwell. http://i.img...

Are you sure it's not just the wind blowing your exhaust gasses from the back of the car to the front and them coming in through the scuttle vents?

Off to Scotland this weekend.
Amsterdam over Easter.
Got four months off in summer (student life is a bitch). Nothing's booked, but on the cards are IoM TT, Rust 2 Rome, a trip to Madrid, a drive over to The 'Ring and maybe do Tomorrowland festival.

dentist69, if you do end up buying a new turbo could I have your old one?
I'll rebuild it, fit it to my car and see what happens.

Re: Well looks like the turbo has finally given out
So you have already spent £130 on a rebuild kit, labour to get someone skilled to sort it unless your confident enough yourself but very risky imo and if that don't work or it goes wrong for what ever reason your out of pocket and need to go purchase yet another part to get it going? Think i would...

Re: Well looks like the turbo has finally given out
If you use a rebuild kit how are you going to rebalance the turbo, it has to be dismantled to replace the bearings / seals. Mark everything on the disassembly so you can rebuild it in the same place and maintain the balance. Yeah, might not be ideal, but when you're working on cars that are high mi...

I'd be tempted to try out a rebuild kit for £30 before buying a new cartridge.
