Parking sensors not working, problem found b5.5

Thought I would post this for the benefit of others. I've been trying to find the weather to resolve my rear parking sensor issue. I originally had intermittent problems where it would work sometimes and not others, then all of a sudden it stopped. I checked all the fuses up front and everything see...

Re: Front end feeling soft and bouncy..

Just bought a pair of Sachs shocks delivered for £91. Local Indy wants £60 for fitting and advised new top mounts at the same time. Booked in for Wednesday so will keep the thread updated.

Re: Front end feeling soft and bouncy..

Will order some new shocks up, what sort of price should I be paying for fitting and is there any preference to make of shock?

Front end feeling soft and bouncy..

Since picking up my B5.5 I've notice the front end seems a little soft and bouncy. For example when I reverse out of my drive and apply the brake to go into first I can see the front of the bonnet dip and come back up. Is this purely the shocks or is there something else it could be?

Anybody else had this issue..?

This is quite annoying as the rest of the passats body work is clean. Looks like moisture has got underneath causing it to peel. Anyone got any ideas to remedy?

Re: New to the forum - Passat AC problems

All sorted. Thought I would try kwik fit as it wouldn't cost anything if the regas wouldn't work. Normally wouldn't go near kwik fit or alike but the machine is all automatic and requires very little assistance from the worker. Anyhow the air con is now ice cold and then pressure switch can now be s...

Missing locking wheel but key and radio code

After buying a lovely B5.5 Passat I've only just realised I'm missing the locking wheel nut and radio code. How do I go about replacing these?

Re: New to the forum - Passat AC problems

Been in contact with my local AC specialist who agrees the system seems low on gas. I said I was getting a reading of 35psi with a Halfords gauge on the low side - he seems to think this is very low despite showing in the green on the gauge. This morning my AC pressure switch arrived, the values on ...

Re: New to the forum - Passat AC problems

Hi bud, the 35psi reading came from a Halfords ac gauge measured on the low side. Obviously being a rubbish halfords setup I could only test the low side. As you said a full set of gauges would be ideal (and something I've been meaning to invest in). So do you reckon the vagcom fault is actually a f...

New to the forum - Passat AC problems

Hi guys, We recently acquired a B5.5 Passat 1.9TDI 130. Great VW service history and seems very well cared for. One thing that is not working is the air con, its of the digital variant. It fails to blow ice cold air. Vag-com revealed a faulty ac pressure switch which is on order. In the meantime I h...
