....just found this on Hypermiler:
https://www.hypermiler.co.uk/emissions/ ... -responses
Over 1200 responded to their survey, of which 77% have had the fix installed (924). 85% (785) subsequently had problems. Good grief.

Watchdog advising not to have the emmissions fix done
...saw it last week.
Groaniad article here:

Mentioned the EGR issue.....and VW denying all. If you're still in two minds about not doing it, this may help you make a decision.

Re: Vehicle cutting out when pulling away
...had this exact problem maybe 2-3 times in 2 years. Haven't had the emmissions de-tune. Too intermittent to bother me, but if others have seen it perhaps a 'feature' of the ECU ;)?

Re: Diesel emissions fix
Indeed....and there is another thread that points out that the engine will have been long-term tested with the ECU as it is, so the long-term effects of this change with respect to reliability/wear are unknown.

Local garage service
Folks,
I'm thinking of getting my nearly 2 year old diesel B7 serviced at a local garage (who I trust) rather than at a VW dealer. I've used them before for warranty services on other cars, so I know they will use VW parts/fluids.
Any advice on VW-specific pitfalls before I do that?

Re: Diesel emissions fix
I don't plan to let them apply this "fix". I do not believe them when they say there will be no loss of power or increase in consumpion.
