Thanks for the reply. I guess that means i need to start ripping the door apart.

Has anyone got the steps written out or easiest way to do it? Guessing a guide will exist for such a common problem but can't find a good one at the moment.

Took it for a good run today, an hour and a half on the motorway each way. Had a mess with the climatronic dignostic to get the engine running tempeature. it sat at 72 degrees c on the motorway doing 70mph. Guessing this is far too low and it should be at 90 degrees? I haven't smelled diesel when i've been in or around the car at all but will have look for anything obvious today. Where's the fuel tank? Will check the diesel temperature sensor socket as well although i doubt there will be a cheap tuning box as the car seems like it's been really well looked after...

Have just been reading about the temperature sensor and thermostat, will check what the climatronic says on a run tomorrow.
Is the temperature sensor the climatronic works off the same one that provides info to the ECU? If it's faulty will i be able to tell without changing it?
