Ok then, but my reps have tapers- the seats have been *no swearing* up by the incorrect use of radius seat bolts....
Run your finger over the seat, you'll be able to feel the radius or taper....

Yep, you need taper bolts, not radius ones...the guy I bought my merc reps off made the same mistake!

Yeah, it is a bit high.....it's on springs....gonna get lowered spring cups for the front and ditch the rubbers on the back...

Ok, cheeky update....Rims are on! :-bd Bought a couple of 7mm nankangs for £30 each and had them and the other 2 boots fitted at the weekend and ftted them...only problem is that the McGard lockers are too long and were stopping the car from actually moving! :(( So a bloke I know with a lathe is sh...

I've got a set, but not on a passat, they're on a BMW 740...in 19x8.5 and 19x9.5....still look tiny though! :D Quality is good, fairly well finished and cast well, although mine are about 8 months old and one has just started to get white spider corrosion under the lacquer, but I've been a bit slack...

I must admit, I sell a fair bit on the bay as part of my business, and I've never had a problem, but then I sell hoses for "enthusiast " type cars ( early Golfs, porsches etc...), so less likely to get messed about....

I've got a 60/40 spring and damper combo on mine, rides very well, doesn't ground on anything unless I hit speedbumps too quick....£150 delivered off german ebay

You don't need compressors to remove the rear springs...just disconnect the shock and you can pull the arm down and take the spring out....

I got TA technix 60/40 springs and dampers off german ebay for £150 including delivery...sellers i.d. was trading-spezi... rides really well and doesn't catch on anything...not quite low enough tho...but you can buy lowered spring cups on german bay as well! check out my readers ride thread for pic...

I asked hot tuning about springs and dampers and he wanted £195 delivered! thats too much! I bought a 60/40 kit off ebay.de for £150 delivered....sellers id was trading-spezi...fast delivery and when they turned up, they were TA technix- same make as the hottuning ones

Got the Brabus rims back from the powdercoaters today, looking pretty good in Anthracite...although they Had to drill out the plastic fake bolts and replacements are a quid each! doesn't sound much, but there's 17 on each wheel! so I'm just gonna leave the holes as they actually look alright...I was...

You don't need to touch the pinch bolts...if you look in the scuttle, there are 2 body coloured grommets on each side...under these are the nuts that hold the strut to the top pan...if you undo these 2 nuts, then the strut will come out without touching the pinch bolts or the arms...much less messin...
