New Edition to the family..

The missus' 1.0L Polo has gone and now been replaced with a Golf, we had to wait a while to get it but its been worth the wait. The pics not the best as too busy driving it at the moment to be honest.

Re: Faulty diesel injector?

If your motor is only just out of the three year warranty, I would approach a vw main franchise dealer and see what they say. Manufacturers often pay all or will contribute to the cost of repairs. This is especially the case if it a common fault. You will have to pay a diagnosis cost but it may be a...

Re: B5.5 Car Matts?

I would recommedn not to purchase Cyberspares mats. I bought a set for b5.5 late last year. They fit perfectly but the driver's mat only lasted 2-3 months. The stitching went on the heel protector section after a month, I was forced to remove this. The mat then wore through and the backing material ...

Re: 4motion tracking in Sheffield

Just wondered whether any one has experienced any abnormal wear to the front offside tyre on 4motions? Mine is wearing on both inside and outside edge. I've been told this is usually caused by low tyre pressure but I check regularly and this is not the issue for me. Tread on 95% of tyre is fine, jus...

Re: estate rear wiper opened up

I have just repaired my rear washer pipe with a kit that vw sell themselves (this replaces the copper pipe that fails). I managed to catch it fairly early and avoided the whole unit going rusty. I thought that I' d mention it was cheaper to buy the kit from the dealers than the one offered on eBay. ...

yeah, i think they are. i think these wheels are off an A6 S line if i'm honest.

I'm pretty sure actual RS6 wheels are 19" and quite a bit wider.

Re: wheel width

Will genuine Audi RS6 wheels fit a B5.5 4motion wagon? They are the ones actually off an RS6 not the A3/A4 SLine versions.

They are 8J X 18 ET43 running on 245/40ZR18 tyres at the moment? Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: B5.5 Replacement Key

Forget going the dealers, I thought i'd lost my spare so I phoned Dane VW in chester for a quote for a replacement. They wanted £180 all in, fortunately i found it so didn't have to pay out. The charge too much for a key for a seven year old car. I was going to get a key off ebay and a get a blank ...

Annoying window rubber noise...

I will first apoligise for my OCD... I have just sorted out all the annoying suspension knocks on my B5.5 tdi 4Mo wagon by replacing a couple of suspension arms and a rear drop link. The new silence in the cabin has been replaced by a really annoying noise coming from the rear upper window rubbers. ...

I've got a 53 plate PD130 and i'm planning to get cruise pretty soon too. I was going to fit myself but Awesome Gti in Manchester will fit for £117 including vat using vag genuine parts. I confirmed this with them last week. I'd rather pay them the extra £30ish to do it than start messing with rem...

I've been looking into Bilstein options for my tdi 4motion wagon. The B12 kits looks pretty good value and good quality. Re: Few more pre-purchase questions - lights, stereo, cruise etc

If the vehicle you go for hasn't got cruise then it is possible to have it retro fitted. My local VW specialist will do it for £150 approx but Awesome Gti in Manchester are doing it for £117 including vat. Sounds like a bargain to me so I'll be going there in the near future as I really do miss it...

Buy it, you won't regret it. I've had mine for 6 months and it has been great so far. Its was great in the snow, really surprisingly good actually. I'm getting just under 40mpg on average, I am currently doing lots of short stop/start journeys though. If your doing long runs it'll do 45mpg. I'd reco...

Re: Upper front suspension arm removal??

Thanks for the advice fellas, finished both arms this afternoon. Front end no longer squeaks and is nice and tight again, I quite enjoyed doing it in the end. I think I got lucky though as none of the bolts had seized, copious amounts of copper grease should ensure they stay this way.

Cheers :D

Re: Upper front suspension arm removal??

Cheers mate, I have just been reading through Bobman's 'How to' on replacing suspension arms. It seems fairly straight forward as long as the bolts aren't seized with rust. I've been spraying with WD40 the last few days so hopefully this will help... I'll prob pick up a new pinch bolt from VW as it'...
