Re: Egr blanking and turbo clean.
did you get the ecu remapped to account for the EGR delete? No.. But it shouldn't matter on an '04 As far as I understand a full delete or disable on 03+MY will just produce an eml but no running issues but the usual earlier boost and possibly a few more mpg . This is what I've been led to believe ...

After cleaning did horses came home to engine? :D Išsiųsta naudojantis HUAWEI VNS-L21 Tapatalk 4 Lt Well.. Yeah I think so. It feels like it, anyway. So much smoother etc. Tried blanking the egr but it runs better with it working so reinstated it. Just need to clean it and get it sold now. 93/93

Re: Manafold full of poo
Recently did mine (on a pd130 passat) and it wasn't a terrible job.. Set light to it, kept it going for near 10 minutes Then Mr Muscle'd/rinsed it a couple of times.. If you have a jetwash, that'd probably help too.. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190426/e088a4efd50cd3051c3093d99394f9f7.jpg http...

This came up in the mot and, very recently, there's a faint squeaking from the n/s/r so I gotta sort it..
Haven't had the wheel off yet, have no clue what's behind there (handbrake-wise) so.. most likely cause and cure please folks?

Ok.. egr and inlet is clean, egr is now blanked off.. not checked cam wear yet. It is on my hitlist. The difference is noticeable, but the chugging from cold is still present. The flap inside the egr, is that for cold starts? Where does the vac hose (from the flap actuator thingy) go? The hose looke...

cleared out nicely, what did you use Well.. I gave it a little soak in unleaded petrol before setting light to it.. Randomly chucked a little more on to keep it going (I think it would have really benefited from an air source to get the flames hotter and a more complete burn). After I let it go out...

Brodit are probably 'the daddy' of phone mounts.. if they float your boat. Previous magnetic mounts, I've had 3 previously, have been a disaster, one touch/bump/jolt and the phone's on the floor.. But not this Ringke one. It holds fast over lumps, bumps, changing destination and music.. Wasn't expec...

When refitting the inlet manifold (AWX engine) is it OK to reuse the original bolts or should they be replaced?

I would say it’s worth checking over free to do item such as cam wear, tappet faces etc to get a good measure of your engine condition, injector loom could be one but IME it normally affects it once warm, but I don’t know everything so could well be very wrong on this.. mines had the issues you des...

Re: AWX cold running lumpiness
Since the issue started all I've done is change glow plugs.. Prior to that it'd had air, pollen and fuel filters, a 1L liquimoly diesel purge and a few tankfuls of fuel with 2T oil added.. I'd read that about the other sensor but, given the quirks these cars seem to have, thought it worth asking. 2 ...
