Re: Load cover handle repair
(continued from above) Finally, on the other piece of the handle you will need to cut off the middle boss to prevent it interfering with your handiwork (photo 4). 4b.jpg The final photo shows the spring when the handle operates. It's not perfect and you can hear the spring rattling against the plast...

Load cover handle repair
I have been well impressed with the build quality of my GT estate so far. That said, I managed to break the load cover handle, such that the return spring no longer operates. You can buy the handle assembly for around 16 quid from VW dealers (part no 3AF 867 799) but if you have the same problem the...

Re: B8 Passat Estate 190 & 240 Bitdi advice
What is fuel economy like with the remap? I struggle to get above 45mpg on a motorway run with the BiTDi, albeit with a fully loaded car...

Re: B8 Passat Estate 190 & 240 Bitdi advice
We looked at a new Tiguan, it was nice but wasn’t put off by the boot not being that big, deciding I’m not an advocate of the higher seating position and then my Yorkshireness kicked in and went used Passat instead! The Passat load floor has two heights - the GT gets a full size spare alloy which m...

Re: Net partition retro-fit
Right, so I now have the parts and am going to give this a shot. Assuming this works, I'll post a how to guide. All I need is for some kind soul who owns a B8 estate with the net partition specced to drop me a PM so that I can take some measurements from you... anyone?

Re: R Line or GT TDI? Ad blue and DSG?
I had to think long and hard about the GT vs R-Line judgement. So while I really like the R-Line styling, what made the difference for me was that you can only get the beige / St Tropez leather interior on the GT. Not to everyone's taste, but I think it looks ultra classy. Let's see how long it stay...

Re: electric boot of key fob
Hello, I just tried mine - the fob both opens and closes the boot (as does the button on the driver's door). I just wish I could stop the tailgate from beeping at me...

Net partition retro-fit
Hello everyone, I am new to Passat ownership and looking forward to getting to grips with my "new" BiTDi GT Estate (66 plate)... I have noticed that mine doesn't have the retractable net partition above the rear seats, and would appreciate a bit of advice on retro-fitting one. Has anyone t...
