I believe the chasis is based on the mondeo, it has a ford engine and possibly there gearbox as well.

Hi Passat part exchanged for new car ( Just New to Me ) a bit newer than the Passat,had a few body work issues with it,and warrenty problems with VW with the usual suspects front wings and boot lid. I think you will have to use the correct oil due to lubricating tolerances of the engine. But no doubt someone more knowledgeable will give you a more defined answer later on.

Shop around! I have done this. I can get it 75 quid cheaper on Confused.com. What puzzles me is that if this company can insure me at this price, why can't Flux match it? Surely I'm a low risk to them being late 30's with no previous accidents, claims, convictions etc. I feel sorry for young driver...

Definitely near the back, the front of the box should be just behind the windscreen,where it meets the roofline or as near as possible.

I work for a company called Crestchic not a garage we just have some bad drivers! :roll: Hi I think I've seen that name around Burton,don't know anything about them though. I used Dent Diamond see http://www.ukpassats.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=10578#p81615| here . They were absolutely brillaiant I couldn't see any trace of the dent afterwards and they were in difficult to reach panels in the rear quarter of an estate. Not sure if they have offices "up ...
