I believe the chasis is based on the mondeo, it has a ford engine and possibly there gearbox as well.

I think you will have to use the correct oil due to lubricating tolerances of the engine. But no doubt someone more knowledgeable will give you a more defined answer later on.

Shop around! I have done this. I can get it 75 quid cheaper on Confused.com. What puzzles me is that if this company can insure me at this price, why can't Flux match it? Surely I'm a low risk to them being late 30's with no previous accidents, claims, convictions etc. I feel sorry for young driver...

Definitely near the back, the front of the box should be just behind the windscreen,where it meets the roofline or as near as possible.
