well its not the wishbones really.....try and cut a long storry short The wishbone mounting point on subframe of the B3's (the big bush side) has a small internal lip, this has to be ground down slightly to enable the MK2 bush to slide in the B3 subframe ONLY take it of the subframe DONT take any ru...

nowt else...just take your power rack in motor factors and exchange for refurbed manual passat rack But dont forget to ask for the manual tie rods....(£23 a side if u forget!) Then, you will have to get 2 new U brackets for a manual rack from VW (£4) and then new rubber or polly bushes all for a M...

I would say the rubbers and runners just need a bit of a lube (silicon grease of similar) and not the lube you were thinking of
