Sorry for the late reply.

It's good to know yours is flat too, you can send me a photo via email? I've got a photo to compare too.

Re: Passat Alltrack - towing

So yesterday I towed with the Alltrack for the first time and I can report a very pleasant journey was had, seemed very stable and comfortable. I do have a question that someone can hopefully answer - can someone measure the height of their towball from the floor with the car fully laden? My towball...

B8 Passat Alltrack

Hello all, I'd like to introduce my new 2016 B8 Alltrack aquired on Saturday. I've been away from Passat ownership for about 2.5 years running a Tiguan which I have to say wasn't a pleasant one right from the off. It was one of those cars that just didn't fit well in my life for various reasons. Any...

Re: Passat Alltrack - towing

Thanks for the replies. I currently tow a 1450kg van with my 2.0tdi Tiguan and looking at the specs it's about the same weight as the Alltrack so yes all good. Fingers crossed I'll be putting a reserve deposit on it today. Oh and a nice surprise I didn't spot the first time I looked at the car it ha...

Passat Alltrack - towing

Hello all, After a few years away from Passat ownership I'm now looking at a B8 Alltrack 190 DSG as a replacement for my daily with some regular trips away in my caravan. I've done some searching regarding Alltrack towing but not found very much, anyone tow with one currently or has done in the past...

Re: anyone know Jase 1.8t?

I sold a him a grill a few weeks back for collection Saturday, he didn't show up either but did reply saying he was somewhere else and completely forgot, no apology.

I've just this minute asked him again if he wants it.

So are they just a push-on or clamp-on as per the Amazon photos?

I agree with the above, had specific vehicle wiring fitted along with a Westfalia detachable and is just great. I did pay extra for it to be fitted which took away the stress.

Re: Rear discs hot - help appreciated.

Just an update - recently drove 200 miles to Wales stopping midway for 20 mins, the rear discs on arrival were no hotter than they have been so feel a little happier that there is nothing major going on. Think I'll just monitor them for the time being.

Re: Rear discs hot - help appreciated.

Thanks for the replies so far, it's an interesting read. Jacked the car up tonight and spun the wheels while the wife pushed the pedal, on pedal release the wheels spun fairly freely. Pedal was also applied for about 1 minute to check for any pressure build up but on release again the wheel spun wit...

Re: Rear discs hot - help appreciated.

New discs and pads means that your calipers slide pins and pistons are now back to there most retracted position ,sorta like when your car was brand new , only calipers, pins and bushings are not.I would check those first to make sure they were freely returning all the way home.and that the pads are...

Rear discs hot - help appreciated.

Had my friendly local garage fit new discs and pads on the back a couple of months back. All was good up until last week when I had a flat tyre so I swapped it for the spare and took the wheel to a local place to have it changed. Upon swapping the spare for the alloy with new tyre, the spare wheel f...

Re: Clutch change, Derby

I had my clutch and flywheel changed by a garage in Stapleford Notts and supplied the parts myself. I've used them for 15 years and are very reliable. To be honest I'm more mates with them than a customer as we've helped each other out alot over the years. Let me know if this is close enough and you...

Thanks. Looking at the part numbers for each wiper they are the same 21" which I have on my car but the wiper arm mounting point on the blade is offset slightly on one side. Is this correct or have I got odd wipers fitted? that's correct. Fit the passenger side first. If it touched the seal, t...
