Weak battery? Or heater plugs were they really replaced and with good quality replacements? Maybe check for continuity with multimeter...? I Had similar when my cambelt was due, then it was worse after the change. get it checked by vag com to see if the timing is slightly out mine was out only 3 de...

So if the timing is off slightly it can results in rough starting when cold and also cause a lot of smoke ? But when engine is warm there are no problems ! Same problem with my car and i wonder if this is the cause. Guess Ill have to book in with the mechanic. Will be interested to hear how you get...

smoke when starting engine
Recently every time when starting engine a lot of smoke coming out like glow plugs don't work properly, (they been replaysed about 4 months ago)somtimes engine starts after second atemt only, computer shows engine failure? Anyone had same problem?

I just wondering witch glow plugs are better, or witch should I fit: NGK , BOSCH , DENSO , DELPHI , or BERU (GSF says they are OEM replacement ) .

And thats how it was untill tryed to move forwards and backwards ,and after few atemts to move backwards it released.Chrisdut wrote:when it wouldnt move, did it rock forwards and backwards like it does with the engine off and in gear?

you sure the gearbox hadnt locked up? Thats where I had a fealing :( , coz when car stoped tryed to drive :shift 1st gear and it looked like was no gear box in car. Then steped out of car tryed to push it of road it felt like gear is ingadged .Couldn't push car forward so gave a short push backward...

no was no additional dash lights , I just haven't got even a clue what was that. hhhhccchhhhh!!!
and also I found at that time that my SSAT didn't moved even an inch in first gear only engine revving out

Yeah I uzed those LED since early spring till now so thats is a bit strange, yeah will try with "normal" bulbs to find out whats what..
Just sticked in a normal bulb and it doesn't work , or mayebe becouse one LED and one normal?
