Re: Aircon Not Cold 7bar pressure so has gas!
I have looked and its all looking normal in that area. I'm guessing that VCDS would log a code if the compressor was shot. Its also making the typical A/C hissing sounds from the vents. Well the condenser temperature sensor has been replaced, old style was fitted so it wasn't a total waste of money....

Re: Aircon Not Cold 7bar pressure so has gas!
Couple of things tested today with VCDS. Fans are cutting in and out when stationary and the condenser fan is working fine. Gas pressure static is 4 bar increasing to 9 bar before condenser fan cuts in and it drops to about 6 bar. Vent temperatures are different from one side of the car to the other...

Re: Aircon Not Cold 7bar pressure so has gas!
Funny you should say that Mike, i ordered one last night so hopefully it will turn up tomorrow. If this doesn't fix it i'm guessing the all too common gas pressure sensor will need to be done. One thing i did notice yesterday while repairing a loose boost pipe was that one of the connectors to the A...

Aircon Not Cold 7bar pressure so has gas!
I'm sure this has been done to death but i'm having issues with the A/C on my Climatronic system. I have run a scan on VCDS and the only fault is re circulation flap which has since been replaced. I have conducted basic settings, been into measuring blocks and the compressor shut down codes are 0 fo...

Re: EDIT Was small fan now no radiator fan's working! HELP PLEASE.
Well i have managed to fix it with a fan pack from a breakers, saying that, the smaller fan didn't work on that one either. I opened up the back of the smaller fan from my old fan pack and unsurprisingly both brushes had stuck fast and were full of crud. Cleaned it all out, gave it 12 volts on the b...

Re: Small radiator fan not working!
Wow, good job i searched! I thought i had posted about this a while back. Bit of an update, neither of the fans are working anymore despite the A/C being switched on. Is there a good troubleshooting guide for this? I have checked all the fuses under the bonnet with a meter and they are all fine, are...

I had a Sachs single mass conversion kit in the Alhambra Tdi 130 motor and it was only slightly noisier than the stock dual mass one and much nicer to use with considerably more clutch feel.

Re: Temperature
The aux heater isnt a common item, generally fitted to higher spec models on earlier B6, but may have been an option on other specs. The aux heater is also a common failure, and a bit of a task to reach and sort out, its in the main airbox inside the dash beside the normal heater matrix. Yep, mine ...

Re: Windows misting up
Try Air-Con on all the time - i have found that having it on all the time removes moisture from inside the car. Air con automatically switches off when the ambient temperature drops below something like 4 degrees, so at this time of year it doesn't always work. hence why the car is suddenly misting...

Yeah but thats a focus.. chavy as hell:D Ive got fitment on point at the moment so rolling arches will ruin that. Just want to make something eye catching and thatll stand out. whats with all this hate No hate, just my humble opinion bud. I'm of the mindset that unless it gives you a performance ad...

Re: B6 wide arches
A focus near me has them, I will post a picture when I next see it so you can have a good laugh. If I was going to do anything I would have the arches pulled or rolled and leave it at that. IMHO anything wider on a car like a passat will look daft.

Re: Where is the pollen filter?
More likely misting up due to aircon/dehumidifier cutting out because of the cold ambient temperatures. Every VAG car I have had has done it at this time of the year with the b6 being no exception. Thankfully I have a heated windscreen so it takes no time to clear.

Re: Tdi 170 DSG cold start problem
Start with the timing and go from there, the belt might have jumped if it has just started doing this. When was the belt last changed and by who? If it hasn't been done correctly with locks in place it's likely to be miles out, particularly on a 16v engine.

Re: Slow Turning Starter.
I know you say the battery is new but what kind of voltage are you seeing on it when the engine is cranking ? As above engine earth straps should be checked to make sure they are good. The solenoid contacts can cause issues. Both the batteries i have had on the car are quality known brands with the...

Re: Slow Turning Starter.
I will have to try the extra earth and see what happens. If i get some time i will strip out the airbox, battery and battery tray and have a proper look at the contacts and give them a clean up. From memory they weren't that bad as the car only had its new cylinder head during the summer. Maybe some...

Re: Slow Turning Starter.
Could try using a jump cable as an extra earth to see if that helps. I take it the battery is good. Battery is brand new bud. I presume if the solenoid was faulty it would give inconsistent performance rather than just weak all the time. It normally struggles the most on cold starts first thing in ...

Slow Turning Starter.
Morning all I have a problem with a slow turning starter which i'm trying to resolve. The starter is like new internally with littl...

Are you after a switched live connection? The mini fuses towards the top can be piggy backed and are switched live. I run my subwoofer using switched live to run the control wire and it works like a charm.

Re: Cigarette lighter/12v socket
I retrofitted a marine grade dual USB charger port in mine for no other reason other than its more useful than the cigar lighter socket. I can charge 2x phones or tablets at the same time now and i don't have to carry those adaptors that never fit very well.

Re: Broken Bi-Xenon Headlight Lens. What are my options?
Headlight back together, fitted and working looks OK until you lift the bonnet but it's better than the broken one. The hunt for a new one continues.
