Re: Parking Sensors
Mine does that when its been raining, either heavy or even if its damp. Nearly 100% when its raining, BUT if the cars been driven for a while even in the rain it clears up. No codes no nothing show up for me on vcds, ive never had it when stationary only if in reverse gear or if I manually press the...

Re: possibly new turbo time :(
mates had a look at all pipes and everything else associated with it, all fine and dandy, and no whistling, just weird that it did it that loudly and never again...having said that, I'm putting money to side for when it goes anyway

Re: possibly new turbo time :(
Mmm what's your mileage? 148k. Adverse turbo operation can be a sign of the oil pump drive key starting to fail. 58 plate CR engines still had dodgy oil pump drive keys and 148K is in the danger zone for failure. I'd drop the sump and check the oil pump drive key for wear unless you know it has bee...

possibly new turbo time :(
Ok, so coming home yesterday, came of the motorway and the turbo started making a really loud whine/whistling, to the point my mum said whats that noise? (she was in the front passenger seat) Was coming back from Nottingham so roughly about 70m journey. My mate, who is a mechanic by trade is going t...

Re: 2.0 TDI CR Sport 4Motion
Timing belt time yes, haldex oil is sooner I believe. 80k miles is not bad actually. So you got some time left for the timing belt, but id get the haldex oil changed. Cost me £65 at sytner vw leeds. Id make sure you get the paperwork for the new clutch and flywheel. Have you rang vw up and seen wha...

Re: 2.0 TDI CR Sport 4Motion
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum, but not to Passats. I had a B5.5 with 270,000 miles on it previously. I'm looking at getting a B6, around about 08 plate. I've seen a 4motion that I like the look of but its over 2.5 hours away. So the questions: Are there and reasons not to get the 4 wheel drive vers...

Re: New Passat owner, small issues
So the lights on the bottoms of the doors don't light up, all four don't work. I can't imagine it's a fuse issue, I did read ccm module or something. Any ideas? Chances are you dont actually have the puddle lights installed, what you have is just plastic reflectors, if i remember puddle lights were...

Re: Camera/sensor on the back of interior mirror?
Is it not for auto wipers? I have auto wipers and a sensor located in the back of the rear view mirror housing. My 'sensor' is viewable from the outside of the car when looking at the rear view mirror from the front of the car, its like 4 small bulbs....

I know that everytime I come of the motorway mine feels quieter and smoother, then after a day or two local driving goes back to being slightly sluggish.

Re: Electronic park brake fiasco
I've spent a small fortune on this car over the last couple of years so I just want to get this sorted as cheaply as possible then sell it or chop the car in for something newer, there's 2nd hand modules on eBay for around £50/60, is it possible to swap it for a 2nd hand one? If so how difficult w...

Re: Dial help
The mileage will be whatever the new clocks were at time of removal. You will need to get the mileage 'corrected' to the correct value which was whatever your old clocks were at. This cannot be done via vcds (assuming you have it) unless of course the mileage on the new clocks was zero to begin with...

Upgrading CAN gateway
Howdy all. Current can gateway is 3C0 907 530 H, I've seen a q version from a local scrapper for £20. Ive got a rns510 no battery drain and no other issues with the gateway, is it worth upgrading to the q version? Anyone know what benefits? or extra options the q gateway brings? or just stick to if...

Advice for a friend who has been offered a B7
A friend has been offered a 61 plate 2.tdi bluemotion, with dsg, 40k, miles, dont know price yet but does the b7 suffer the same fate as the b6 regarding oil pump balance shaft? If the dsg has had a regular oil change is it a good buy? Ive read plenty of horror stories regarding vw passats's and the...
