cleaning seats method/products

Hi all,whats the best method/products for cleaning seats. Ive have the black/grey cloth sports seats and they are a little grubby after years of use. I need to bring them back up to clean looking.
I have a wet and dry vax but the wet bit dont work.Ive tried several upholstery cleaners but they dont seem to really get into the seats. The colder weather will be here soon so i need to get it done before then.
Any advice guys?
