Machine polisher, Rotary or D/A?

Post by Gary70 »

I keep seeing the remarkable efforts you detailing guys put in and the results you get ^:)^

And I always ask was it machine or hand finished? Almost always a machine has played some part in making a really superb job.
Anyway I have been looking at polishers and for around £100 - £150 you can get what seems a decent D/A polisher and maybe an entry level rotary.
I know D/A is considered safer for the amateur and gives good results, but does a rotary with the proper respect give a better finish? or is it just faster?
