V6 petrol engine question.

Hi folks. I have a V6 petrol 4motion and have a question relating to the revs, especially when cold.

The car has quite a high clutch anyway, but what I've found is that when setting off, especially within the first few miles, when I change gear, it's takes a while for the revs to drop, which as a result, sounds like I'm changing gear badly, when intact, it's a fact that the revs are slow to fall. Are there any known issues with this engine, throttles cables that need regular greasing or something like that, or things that stick open?

Any info would be much appreciated.
