Spraying bump strips

Hey all, im thinking of spraying my black bump strips to the same colour of the car (silver). They are black at the moment, I have seen a couple of posts but I am just wondering if any of you have done this and had any success or nightmares, or any do's or don'ts. I am happy to take all your help, however samll.
