VCDS - turn down or turn off EGR

Post by Mindriot »

Ok as far as I know the general theory is the EGR (electircal/electronic type) cant be turned off by VCDS alone.

But it seems on some VAG models its input volume/range can be drastically turned down.

Anyone got experience of doing this?

I have blanked my EGR on my T5 as an experiment, but as the concencus seems to prove the ECU can detect blanking and on engine braking or letting the van run on off the throttle the ECU flashes the coil symbol as per generic faults go. It doesnt limit power or affect the engine but its annoying.

Ill be going through VCDS on it tomorrow to see if I can find the right coding block etc but any experience appreciated.
