Just wondering if this is just an individual outlet, or if its been happening elsewhere.
I had a remap done on my old B7 Passat in 2017 at a local reputable mappers for £495 Stage 2. Did many thousands of miles with no issues, but sold the car during the pandemic due to work/financial issues.
I'm now back in a B8, so i thought i'd see what could be done to the new one. Been quoted shy of £700 for a stage 2
They also quoted shy of £500 for a DSG Oil service too! WTF!! VW can do that cheaper!!!
I know the mapper isn't shy of work, they regularly update their socials with the work they do, so i'm not sure if the price is right for a map.
I'm a bit reluctant to take it to a cheaper place, as these guys map on the B7 was perfect, with no smoke on a DPF mod.
Am i out of touch with the world, or are they really expensive?
