RNS510 Installation - Indulge me!

Hi

I have recently bought a 2011 Passat Estate (Bluemotion 2.0 SE), and I would really like to buy this unit to install.

From reading this forum, and around the web, I still have some questions.

Firstly, I've been looking at units on eBay, and whilst the model numbers are all the same, there are differing part numbers. Do I need to find a prt number specific to my cars year/model?

I'm watching this one specifically:

When it comes to the installation, the actual procedure itself seems (emphasis on 'Seems'!) straightforward. My car already has Bluetooth, and the unit I am looking at comes with the GPS antenna, and loaded with maps.

However, it's the stage after this I don't have a clue about. How do I (or who do I get) to tell the car a new unit has been installed, to ensure that everything works as before, and all the new functions work?
