b4 door handle problem

ok I,m a dork. I was wondering if there is any remedy to this problem except for ripping off the door, cutting/damaging/smashing something. One of the rear door handles came out on opening, been loose for a while. on checking I saw the screw holding it in had fallen out so got another bolt to fit. Lovingly refitted the handle screwed it in place and slammed it shut. Won't open... I guess the handle mech hadn't lined up with the latch? it doesnt seem to connect with anything. anyway the child lock was on so it can't be opened from the inside, the electric window mech has been broken for over a year so that is seized solid. i cant figure out anyway to open it. The inside trim really needs to be removed with the door open I imagine and I cant see it will allow me to get the latch apart as it is closed properly..... arrrrg any clever suggestions>?
