sorry but... another B3 - B4 parts crossover Q....

Sorry again, I'm hoping to replace the drivers door lock mec. on my B3 as I think its effed & have found a new one on egay (358 837 016 A) but have a B4 mec. from one I recently raided (358 837 016 
so apart from the letter difference is there likely to be any point in using the B4 one as opposed to the new B3 (looking??) one?
suppose I should check the number on the one fitted to the car
sorry for another stoooooopid Q but maybe someone here has come across issues with different parts?
