MFD sat nav problem

MFD sat nav problem
Hi everyone...I have a MFD B in my 99 passat recently fittted..the problem is that my position on the map is about 1/2 a mile behind where i am so i miss turning's ect.....The MFD came with a plug n play cable with a switch on it, i have tried it with the switch in both position's but it is still no better.....Do i need to recoce the CCM to tell it it has a MFD fitted.....this is really annoying now
