Fitting a Multifunction wheel...

Post by Stampers »

Ok, I've got a little idea floating around at the moment that won't go away...

I know most people replace their steering wheels with the 3 spoke sport variety (also found in MK4 Golf GTI's).
Thing is, my car already has one of these.
Let me just say now that I am referring to my B5.5 Passat.

I want to replace mine with one of the 4 spoke multifunction wheels.
I am planning on keeping the Headunit OEM, so having the controls on the wheel would really finish it off for me.
Before anyone shoots me down here, I have used the search function and found people have mentioned doing this mod, but no actual proof or info that anyone has achieved it.

I'm not fussed with having cruise control, but I am intrigued as to what wiring (If any) that I need to retrofit this type of wheel into the car.

So.... Has anyone succeeded in fitting a multifunction wheel to a non-multifunction car?
