let me descibe going round a bend at speed in my W plate 235K wagon, I start by turning the steering wheel, the car sags left or right depending, then settles, by which time my heart`s in my mouth, I`ve turned the wheel some more and over compensated, back end is stepping out or in the wet front has understeered- first time that happened was almost into the path of an oncoming hgv hauling logs now, trust me, THAT`LL wake you up on your way to work! my mechanic swears there is nowt wrong with the suspension and I just have to get used to a much larger longer car than my last (for 8 years) nissan almera, I think I need a coilover set and much grippier tyres, even if only to suit my style of driving- quick, not maniac- honest! does anyone know if just heavier/uprated struts will do as I can`t really justify the cost of coilovers and fitting them? thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer.

a new set of tyres (prestivo sports) made no difference to awfull handling of my wagon, so it`s off to ADS, a vag specialist in west dunbartonshire.
turns out front suspension was knackered!
2 track rod ends, upper front and rear suspension arms and a wheel alignment adjustment and she`s night and day different! uprated Bilstiens yet to come.
as for prestivo sport tyres, now, T1r`s/P6000`s they aint, but they seem pretty good to me, I`ll submit a proper review once I`ve a decent amount of miles under them. reasonable price and good handling so far, though!
big thanks to Steph and the ads crew!
