Drivers Door Rattle At Certain Speeds

Hello All,

The one thing I noticed about the drive of my new motor is that certain speeds/etc the drivers door will rattle.

To describe it the best – it sounds like theres a nut and bolt in there that’s loose.. Or perhaps a couple – because it’s a funny rattle, not of parts/screws rattling around the floor – but like something is loose.

I rang a random “vw specialist” garage and they started talking of the door cards being harder to remove than a stubborn stain… and then said its an hours work just to find out what it is.

I know I had problems with the electric window arms in my previous car (Golf) but that was quite easy to sort.

It’s the only door that rattles in the car, its only at weird speeds it does it – but other than that – the car is whisper silent!

Is it a tough job getting the door card off?

Is it likely to be something ridiculous – or is there something “prone to coming apart” in Passat Doors?
