OBDII port - where is it?

Post by Critical_Mass »

Hi all,

i need to scan my B5 passat as the temp gauge is intermittent, but im not sure where the port is. I thought it would be behind the ash tray, but nope its not there??

Can anyone tell me where abouts it is?

Also is there only one sensor for the temp on the passat. On my Corrado there's 2, one for the ECU and the other for the dash reading. But after reading on here, if the dash temp gauge isnt working, then it'll also cause performance/economy issues, which leads me to think the one sensor is for the dash and the ECU.. can anyone confirm this?

Also where is the temp sensor exactly? I also read that the sensor is green, but on Euro Car Parts, there's 2 listed. One is black the other is blue... which is it, if any? They both appear to be the same apart from the colour???

Thanks

Gaz
