Windscreen with Rain sensors

Hello all. Will try to make this as brief as possible. Basically my windscreen guy messed up a front windscreen fitting ad the car leaked afterwards. He broke the screen with rain sensors attempting to remove and reseal it and fitted and standard one as he didn't have the correct one to hand. Now my intermittent wiper dont work. He thinks they should, as the sensor is still connected but hidden under the roof trim. Basically should the intermittent wipers work and can I refit my auto dimmer mirror again. Trevor
