No response from accelerator

No response from accelerator
Start the car and idles perfect as soon as you touch accelerator nothin but then idles at 1100 rpm and then glow plug light flashes and engine workshop shows with beep. Any ideas? Got friend popping over this eve to plug it in and see. But though I'd ask on here too. Car is a 2001 b5.5 tdi sport 130 6speed estate
