Rear door electrics - isolating the lock

Post by cbkernow »

My rear driver side door has the common lock failure. Fortunately I was able to open the door eventually without ripping the lock out!

So now the electrics to the door are disconnected so it does not lock/unlock on the central locking but it functions fine. Eventually I need to replace the lock of course.....

For now though......

1) Can I fool the system in to thinking that door is locked - as it is the lights don't flash when locking as it doesn't realise the door is locked (sometimes hard to tell the blipper worked if I can;t hear or see the locks)

2) Can anyone direct me tow which wire does which on the plugs that connect the door? It would be great to be able to get the window and speaker working again but keep the locking electrics isolated.

thanks!!
