About 3 months ago the Passat started steaming up really bad despite the aircon being on auto. Never ever had a problem previously. It can steam up in 2 or 3 minutes during this cold weather.
Research on here suggested leaks.....blocked plenum drains........water flooding in thru the pollen filter etc etc.
A recent thread proved most helpful explaining how to diagnose faults on the climatronic unit.
Its showing code 04FA Recirculation flap servo motor fault. Sure enough regardless of what settings are on the climatronic the flap at the base of the pollen filter housing is shut fast.
My question is...how on earth do I get to the motor? Is it possibly a lead dropped off, the link to the flap detached or a duff motor?
Any help would be very much appreciated as the situation in the extremely cold weather is potentially dangerous.
