ccm woes!

So tonight I finall bit the bullet and took a peek at my ccm. It wasn't pretty!.
The underlay was damp but not soaked ant there was minimal ingress into the casing( looked more like condensation) however looking closer at the actual wires, some had been repaired before and extremely corroded, I cut these back to clean wire and 're crimped them, other wires where not so good (black) and almost perishe
Any way how easy is it to rewire the loom?
Is it just a case of cutting out the bad and replacing with new?
