New rubber snub mount - tight or what ...?

OK. Got a new V6 rubber snub mount recently to replace the poo original. Tried to fit it with the mounting boss still on the car but it wouldn't go. Tried hot water and lube etc as per various threads but no way was it going on. Though, to be fair, I couldn't use full strength on it as I'd not long dislocated a collar bone. Anyway ...... from the efforts I made I assume the intercooler piping on which it's mounted to have to come off the car to get the bleddy thing on? Correct?

Will give it another go sometime .....
