Alternator Clutch Pulley Thread Direction

Post by BIG F@ TW@ »

My mate has just picked up a 05 pd130 same as mine, the previous owner had a new alternator fitted but the pulley is too wide (6 ribs), and the belt is shredding on it.

I've got a correct width one to fit, but am struggling to get confirmation of whether it's a reverse for thread (so I would need to turn clockwise to undo)

I have the correct spline tool, but don't want to break it. Currently alternator in vice, and using breaker bar to try and remove pulley.

Can anyone confirm I'm going the correct way please, Haynes manual doesn't cover this. Looking at the thread in the new pulley it looks like a normal clockwise to tighten thread?

I've found the spec, does ot tell me the thread is reverse?

Thanks Guy
